Background

We are all travelling for different reasons.  For some people it’s a childhood dream of wanderlust, or a too tempting suggestion of a break following years of full time work or education.  Maybe some deep desire to help people or animals and find some fulfilling experience in life through volunteer programs in disadvantaged countries.  For others, possibly a sudden awakening to the shortness of life, or a change of circumstances that makes us crave the great outdoors and a life changing experience.  If you’re anything like me then possibly a combination of driving factors led to the decision to do something incredible.  But whatever the reason behind it, we all suffer with the same condition… Itchy feet.

Travel is probably the most expensive and addictive of all the drugs.  Unless you’re one of the sensible minority who managed to save enough money to fully cover all your living and leisure expenses right up to your intended return date, then you will inevitably run into financial troubles along the way, or, if you choose not to let that hold you back, then you’re probably more likely to face those troubles when you get home.  But have you ever heard anybody complain that travelling was a waste of time and money?

However you choose to spend your journey, I’m sure you’ll come to realise that it’s only a waste if you’re not enjoying the experiences you’re creating.

This blog was started in October 2015, already two years into my travels, I’d been considering a blog for a long time, but not sure I had anything of interest to say to the world.  But as it turns out, I do have a lot of photos of incredible places I’ve really enjoyed snapping as I go along, and I do run into a lot of worldly questions through the interesting people and bizarre situations I come across from one day to the next, so I’ve chosen to use this space to share a few of my experiences, and to occasionally ponder all sorts of subjects at length, and if you take an interest in the things I have to say then you are more than welcome to ponder along with me.

You are also welcome to share your opinion with me if you think that my occasional inevitable venting via this site is disagreeable and you want to tell me I’m a good candidate for the Darwin Awards.

Whenever I am on the road, I’ll be sure to keep you posted about the beautiful people and places I find in the world – and in between, I’ll do my best to generally entertain.

Enjoy!

  1. I completely agree, travel is most expensive addiction. BUT, I have no regrets, none whatsoever! The only problem I have with travelling is that I can seem to get enough of it. 🙂 Cheers to wanderlust!
